Brian Byrd is a strategic advisor with over 25 years of experience shaping state and national conversations on health equity, education, social justice, and philanthropy. His career centers on building effective bridges between communities and institutions.
Brian advises organizations such as the Visual Storytellers Fund, the BarTur Family Foundation, and Adirondack Foundation, developing innovative philanthropic initiatives focused on global photojournalism, rural community capacity building, and community development.
His leadership at Rockefeller Foundation, New York Health Foundation, and Council on Foreign Relations advanced health, harm reduction, criminal justice reform, and diversity. His cross-sector approach has created impact in mental health, immigration, sexual violence advocacy, misinformation, and pandemic response.
An MPA graduate of NYU's Wagner School, Byrd serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Community Advisory Group and the Overseas Press Club of America's Board of Governors.
